About Us
Welcome to Ellamarie Swimwear – Made for You, Inspired by Life
Founded by Lauree Conte, and named after her daughter, EllaMarie Swimwear was born from a desire to create something truly versatile, sustainable, comfortable, empowering and simply made to last. 'We believe that swimwear should celebrate the uniqueness of everybody. That’s why some of our pieces feature adjustable designs, allowing women to find their perfect fit with ease—because beauty isn’t about size, it’s about confidence'.
The Inspiring Journey
In 2023, disappointment with online shopping sparked the creation of EllaMarie Swimwear, a brand fuelled by my desire to build something meaningful.
After spending ten years in the mining industry, I decided it was time for a change. Burnout led me to Bali, a soul-searching holiday that reignited my energy and gave me clarity about what truly mattered. Leaving behind my career wasn’t easy, but the path forward became clear during my stay.
Before my trip, I went hunting online for swimwear, hoping for designs that felt sexy, supportive, and empowering. The reality was far from it—cheap fabrics, poor fits, and excessive non-recyclable packaging. Why should fast fashion dominate the market when it doesn't fit, built from cheap materials that doesn't last, ineffectively contributing to environmental harm? Could I create something better?
The Main Event
As I disembarked for my trip of a lifetime, Bali offered more than serenity; it introduced me to individuals who inspired action. I connected with an Australian woman running her own ethical swimwear manufacturing business in Bali, which sparked something inside of me. Researching sustainable durable fabrics led me to Carvico Fabrics—an eco-friendly material that was made up of 78% recycled fibres, remarkable durable, soft luxe fabrics and are a certified environmental responsible business.
I remember the moment the samples arrived—pure excitement coupled with conviction. This was it. EllaMarie Swimwear would not only deliver confidence-boosting, adjustable swimwear to women of all shapes and sizes, but it would champion sustainable materials to reduce environmental impact.
Sustainable Fashion
Sustainability, to me, is both a professional and personal mission. The fashion industry is a major polluter globally; fast fashion waste and poor recycling practices overwhelms our landfills each year. Australians discard 800,000 tons of clothing annually, with only 15% reused or recycled. Synthetic fabrics release harmful microplastics and take centuries to decompose. The wear once and discard mentality is damaging our planet.
Ellamarie Swimwear is about embracing who you are, without limits. Join us in redefining swimwear—where fashion, function, and sustainability come together.
